Historic Old Town Longmont - hub for Arts, Entertainment & Real Estate
The community of Longmont is one of Northern Colorado’s fastest growing communities and the second most populous city in Boulder county. The 14,256 foot mountain peak which lays the impressive backdrop for the city of Longmont was named after Major Stephen H. Long who first visited the area in 1820. 50 years later in 1870, a group of prominent Chicago businessmen purchased 50,000 acres along the St. Vrain River and founded the city. Members of the Chicago Colorado Colony chose the site for the budding community carefully and appointed the name Longmont, after nearby Long’s Peak.
Modern day Longmont offers the perfect blend of small town charm, cultural experience, and the beauty of the ever present Rocky Mountains. The historic downtown offers a delightful mix of shops, restaurants and galleries. The city offers a vibrant arts scene including a variety of museums, theatre company, and local symphony orchestra.
